How to mirror a custom shape?

Summary: At times we are unable to create a shape and flip it horizontally or vertically with the same size (with the width & height) .

Here’s a short procedure to help you with the process:

Please uncheck the option for Item-> Edit> Shape

To create an horizontal reflection:

  • Copy the width of your shape from the measurement palette
  • Drag the right (or left) bounds of your shape across its opposite side
  • You should end up with your shape flipped horizontally but distorted
  • Paste the copied width back into the measurement palette

To create a vertical reflection:

  • Copy the height of your shape from the measurement palette
  • Drag the top (or bottom) bounds of your shape across its opposite side
  • You should end up with your shape flipped vertically but distorted.
  • Paste the copied height back into the measurement palette
