How the Quark Publishing System (QPS) Server Rendition Backlog Functions

During QPS Server startup, QPS Server searches for all assets whose indexing status is set to pending and it adds all such assets to the indexing queue. Therefore, restarting QPS Server will not clear the indexing queue.

However this behavior is configurable via a property for indexing, indexPendingAssetsOnStartup. This property can be found in the file conf\Indexing.properties. If set to false, the queue will not be rebuilt at startup and you can manually search for and re-index the required files. By default the property is set to true. To clear a backlog of assets pending indexing, you do not need to restart the server. JConsole can be used to remove all assets currently in queue
