How to Initialize QuarkXPress Server Using a Script

Useful for:

  • Automatic Startup of QuarkXPress Server
  • Setting up QuarkXPress Server for automatic initialization on failure and reboot of a server machine

Procedure:
To initialize QuarkXPress Server using a script on Macintosh:

  • Run the keepalive.sh script (located in the QuarkXPress Server folder)

To initialize QuarkXPress Server using a script on Windows:

  • Run the keepalive.bat script (located in the QuarkXPress Server folder)

Note: Terminating this script (pressing ctrl) will terminate QuarkXPress Server and all subrenderers.

Note: keepalive.bat and keepalive.sh no longer need to be updated (as was previously required) in order to allow for multiple sub-renderer operation. These parameters are now ascertained from the QuarkXPress Server config file.
