How to change Server Configuration when QXPS is running as a Service

In order to change the Server Configuration while QXPS is running as a service, 'getprefs' and 'setprefs' parameters of QXPS could be used.

The getprefs parameter provides the current preference settings for QuarkXPress Server in format whereas QXPS Preferences can be changed/set using setprefs parameter.

Please perform the below mentioned steps to use this feature in order to view/change the system settings while QXPS is running as a Service or noui mode:

·         Issue a getprefs request to determine the name of the tag that needs to be modified.

For example, to change the QuarkXPress Server Documents, you would first submit a getprefs request to the server.

http://servername:portnumber/getprefs

In the resulting , you would note that the name of the tag for QuarkXPress Server Documents folder is “DocumentRootFolder”.

·         Submit a setprefs request using the name of this tag.  For e.g. In order to change the QuarkXPress Server Documents folder, Submit a setprefs request to the server, like so:  http://Servername:Portnumber/setprefs?DocumentRootFolder=MacHD:Users:Newdocpool

It will change the QuarkXPress Server Documents Folder to new location, for e.g Mac HD>> Users> NewDocpool as per above mentioned request.

Kindly refer to QXPS Web Integration Guide available in documents folder in the installed directory of QXPS for detailed information about getprefs and setprefs parameter.
