Microsoft Word End Note Numbers Display Incorrectly When Imported into QuarkXPress

This is a defect in the Microsoft Word Import filter for QuarkXPress.  Until this defect is fixed, you can use the following steps to import the endnotes correctly:

  1. In the Microsoft Word file go to Insert > Footnote.
  2. In the Footnote and Endnote dialog click on the Options button
  3. In the Note Options dialog click the Convert button.
  4. In the Convert Notes dialog select the Convert all Endnotes to Footnotes button.
  5. Click OK, then click OK.
  6. Import the MS Word file into QuarkXPress. The footnotes will all be converted to endnotes without changing the numbers to Roman numerals.
