Background Color Applied after Importing an Excel File via Insert Object is Missing in Exported PDF

Import the excel sheet using the Table tool. To do so:

  1. Select the Table tool.
  2. Draw a Table object. A dialog will display.
  3. Select the Link to External Data check box and click OK. A dialog will display asking you to browse to the Excel file you wish to import.
  4. Navigate to the Excel file and click OK.
  5. Apply a background color to the Table.
  6. Export the Layout as PDF.
